Alexandria's Freedmen's Cemetery A Legacy of Freedom
This book is based on six years of research into locating descendants of the Freedmen Cemetery. One hundred and seventy-two deceased individuals' descendants were located. The death of their loved ones at the Cemetery is at the center of their stories of survival and freedom.
African Americans of Alexandria Virginia Beacons of Light in the Twentieth Century
These narratives covered the period from 1920 to 1965. Initially, members of the Charles Houston Ad hoc Committee, appointed by the city, compiled short narratives to recognize the achievements of people in categories such as law, medicine, religion, business, sports, science, the military, community service, and arts.

In 2017, I approached the Alexandria Gazette Packet Newspaper in Alexandria, VA, about having a column on historical articles of African Americans. I immediately received an email from the editor encouraging me to submit. From 2018 through 2023, I wrote for two newspapers and had over 70 articles.
